Brushed gold is extremely versatile. It pairs naturally with warm whites, cream tones, terracotta accents, natural wood vanities, and warm grey tile. It also works well in contrast against deeper colours like navy, forest green, or charcoal. What it doesn’t work well with is cool, stark white with blue-toned grey — gold needs warmth in the surrounding palette to look intentional.
You can use brushed gold as your primary hardware finish across all fixtures, or as an accent against a more neutral primary finish. Some designers use brushed nickel for fixtures and brushed gold for decorative accessories like hooks and mirrors — this can look intentional when done with care.
